A photo competition is also being organized: residents are invited to send in a photo of their garden, with the prize being the election of the most beautiful garden on social networks.

With the aim of encouraging contact between neighbors, especially the elderly, and strengthening local ties, the Ministry for the Family, Solidarity, Living Together and Hospitality, the Grand Ducal Police and GERO – Kompetenzzenter fir den Alter, have developed a campaign to promote neighbourliness and combat the social isolation of the elderly.
The central element of this campaign, launched on October 1 to mark the International Day of Older Persons, is a postcard to be filled in and placed in the letterbox of the neighbor of your choice. This gesture is a way of offering that most precious of things: time.
By emphasizing the values of solidarity, living together and proximity, participants are invited to (re)discover the ties that bind them to their neighbors, especially seniors, who are often particularly at risk of social isolation.

In Capellen, near the Paul Glück Tennis Center, a new tower for swallows has just been installed. It offers these birds a safe place to shelter and nest.
As part of NaturPakt, the local authority is providing additional nesting sites and actively contributing to the preservation of biodiversity. This initiative is of particular importance, as modern architecture is making it increasingly difficult to build nests on facades and buildings.
With its various nesting boxes, this special tower creates a new living space for the swallows and guarantees them a safe place to breed. Swallows are usually present in our region from mid-April to mid-September. During this period, they reproduce and, with a little luck, you’ll be able to spot a few around the new tower.
