Bike Wash and maintenance station for bicycles
The municipality of Mamer has two solutions for maintaining the bikes of cycling enthusiasts.
New bike wash
This bike wash station is particularly eco-friendly and sustainable. In fact, the system uses very little water and very little energy. The bike is cleaned by a rotating brush. The bike is loaded into the machine manually. As a result, the duration and intensity of the wash can be adjusted based on how dirty the bike is.
Under normal circumstances, the station is located on the grounds of the recycling center in Mamer (7b Route de Dippach, L-8225 Mamer). It is open to the public during the center’s hours of operation: Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Use of the “CycleWash” station is free.
Step-by-step instructions are displayed right on the machine itself. A cleaning cycle takes about three minutes. All types of bicycles, including electric-assist bicycles (e-bikes), can be washed in the “CycleWash.” All wastewater is collected in a retention tank for proper disposal afterward.
The washing and maintenance station
In addition to “CycleWash,” the municipality has also set up a permanent bike wash station behind the Nic. Frantz sports hall in Mamer. This bike wash station is equipped with a water hose and an air pump, as well as a few tools for making minor repairs. This station is accessible at all times, weather permitting.
