The department comprises two divisions:
- the building police division, which is responsible for building permits and information on the general development plan (PAG),
- the Urban Planning and Development Division, whose primary occupation is the management of the General Development Plan (PAG), urban development and planning, and the elaboration and coordination of urban projects, Master Plans (PD), and Specific Development Plans (PAP).
