Rules of conduct for dog owners

Rules of conduct for dog owners

In the commune of Mamer, dogs are part of everyday life. The law of May 9, 2008 on dogs lays down mandatory rules in public areas to guarantee safety, hygiene and mutual respect.

Dogs must be kept on a leash in towns, on public transport, in communal areas of apartment buildings, in parking lots, at public events, and on sports facilities and cycle paths. They must also be kept under control at all times.

Dogs must be picked up from sidewalks, public squares and green spaces. Dogs are not allowed on playgrounds. Dog waste collection stations are available throughout the commune.

The commune invites dog owners to respect these legal obligations and contribute to a clean and respectful public space.

Meet your neighbors with HOPLR

Meet your neighbors with HOPLR

The HOPLR neighborhood network arrives in the commune of Mamer.

HOPLR is a private platform reserved exclusively for local residents, enabling them to strengthen contacts between neighbors, help each other out and organize joint activities.

Its aim is to strengthen communication and solidarity between neighbors, while promoting social interaction and relationships on the streets and in the neighborhoods.

Here are a few concrete examples:

  • Get to know your neighbors, share ideas and create activities together.
  • Encourage mutual assistance: lending tools, practical advice or a helping hand.
  • Share your good addresses: restaurants, artisans, babysitters and local tips.
  • Organize friendly events, such as block parties, flea markets or neighborhood gatherings.

For this network to be a success, it must bring together a large number of participants. HOPLR is completely free of charge and without advertising.

To register, download the free app from the App Store or Google Play Store, or go directly to www.hoplr.com.

The registration steps are explained in the letters distributed to all households in the next few days.

Being well informed in case of danger

Being well informed in case of danger
