The commune of Mamer is launching the second edition of its Participatory Budget. From June 1 to October 1, 2026, residents will be able to submit their ideas and actively contribute to the development of their commune. A budget of 75,000 euros is available for the implementation of selected projects.

The first edition was a great success and resulted in two winning projects: a real-time digital display at the Hiereknapp bus stop in Capellen and a dog park in Brill Park.

The Participatory Budget is open to residents of the commune of Mamer aged 12 and over. For minors,parental consent is required.

The Commune de Mamer is calling for applications to fill a vacancy on the Social Inclusion Commission.

Candidate requirements:
– be at least 18 years old on the day of application;
– enjoy civil and political rights;
– reside in the commune of Mamer.

The Commune of Mamer is inviting all residents to take part in a survey on sport and physical activity. The aim is to better adapt the sports offer to the needs and expectations of citizens in the future.

The survey is open to all local residents, whether or not you’re a sports fan. Your opinion will help to improve quality of life and social cohesion.

A digital screen has recently been installed at the Hiereknapp bus stop in Capellen, displaying timetables in real time. This new equipment improves the daily life of public transport users and is entirely solar-powered, underlining the sustainable nature of the project.

This project has its origins in the first edition of the participatory budget, launched by the municipality of Mamer at the end of 2024. With a budget of 75,000 euros, this initiative enabled residents to propose concrete projects and vote for their favorites during 2025. The high level of citizen participation testifies to the importance of commitment and cohesion within the municipality.

After the votes were counted, two initiatives were selected: in addition to the digital screen, the installation of a dog park. This will be available in May in Brill Park.

Building on the success of the first edition, the commune will shortly be launching the second edition of the participatory budget, offering citizens a new opportunity to put forward their ideas and actively contribute to the commune’s development.

To support the elderly and people with reduced mobility, the municipality of Mamer, in collaboration with Solina Aarbechtshëllef, is offering two subsidized services: hedge trimming and snow removal.

In the commune of Mamer, dogs are part of everyday life. The law of May 9, 2008 on dogs lays down mandatory rules in public areas to guarantee safety, hygiene and mutual respect.

Dogs must be kept on a leash in towns, on public transport, in communal areas of apartment buildings, in parking lots, at public events, and on sports facilities and cycle paths. They must also be kept under control at all times.

Dogs must be picked up from sidewalks, public squares and green spaces. Dogs are not allowed on playgrounds. Dog waste collection stations are available throughout the commune.

The commune invites dog owners to respect these legal obligations and contribute to a clean and respectful public space.

SICA’s ecological calendar for 2026 is now available online. It presents, for each member commune, all the waste collection dates from January to December.

The College of Aldermen informs that the swimming pool at the Kinneksbond site will be open as of the 19th of September 2025, on Fridays from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm and on Saturdays from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm for the residents of the municipality.

Admission costs €3 for 2 hours for children and young people aged 4 to 17. Adults pay €5 for two hours. Admission is free for children under 3 years old.

Payment is made exclusively via a card that residents can request online at https://piscine.mamer.lu or at the reception of the municipal administration (tel: 31 00 31 -1).

This card can then be recharged online, at the pool’s cashier desk, or at a terminal
inside the pool.

Since 1ᵉʳ January 2024, the commune of Mamer has been awarding a grant to support young people aged 18 who wish to discover Europe by train.

On request, the commune will contribute to the cost of purchasing an “InterRail” ticket. This contribution amounts to 90% of the ticket price, up to a maximum of 500 euros.

During Climate Pact audit, the Commune de Mamer achieved 68% of the total points and thus obtained Category 3 certification (>65%).

This is a clear sign of the municipal authorities’ commitment to climate protection and sustainable development. Mamer has now implemented, or committed to, more than two-thirds of the measures recognized at European level as part of the European Energy Award.

The commune would like to inform you that as part of roadworks, the CR102 in Kehlen (rue de Mamer) will be closed to all traffic, between the intersections with the Juddegaass and rue d’Olm, from May 19, 2025 at 9:00 am, for a provisional period of 6 months.

The > 3.5-tonne traffic between Mamer and Quatre-Vents will be diverted in both directions via Kopstal. For < 3.5-tonne traffic, an alternative detour will be signposted via Olm.

Traffic of > 3.5 tonnes between Olm and Quatre-Vents will be diverted in the direction indicated by Kopstal. Trucks > 3.5 tonnes coming from the ZAE Kehlen will have to follow the detour via Olm and Mamer, as passing through Kehlen is impossible.
