To participate in events organized throughout the year by the Commune de Mamer, you can now easily register via our dedicated website https://activites.mamer.lu.

Even more practical: simply use your smartphone to scan the QR code that you’ll now find on flyers distributed to all households, or click on the link available in the diary on the Gemeng Mamer mobile app and at www.mamer.lu.

However, it is still possible to register for events by telephone or e-mail.

The countdown to the submission of projects for the participatory budget has begun.

As of today, residents of the commune of Mamer still have a week, up to and including February 28, 2025, to submit their ideas on the platform https://jeparticipe.mamer.lu or submit a paper version to the local administration.

All residents aged 12 and over can take part.

The Commune of Mamer has signed the Gemengepakt (communal pact for intercultural living), thus committing itself to a participatory process that emphasizes access to information, the participation of all people living or working in the commune, and the fight against racism and all forms of discrimination.

Over the past few days, residents of the commune have received a survey in their letterboxes. Have your say and make an active contribution to community life and exchanges in your commune!

Answer the questions on living together in the commune until 24.03.2025:

New: Hedge trimming and winter services for seniors

In collaboration with Solina Aarbechtshëllef, the Municipality of Mamer is offering two new hedge-trimming and winter services.

The services include a gardening service (pruning of shrubs and hedges along the public domain) and a snow-clearing service (snow-clearing and salting of pavements and pedestrian access to main residences).

These services are intended for

  • single people or couples aged 70 or over
  • people (of any age) who are recognised as dependent or have a recognised disability, duly certified by a medical certificate
  • people (of any age) hospitalised or ill on presentation of a medical certificate attesting to their state of health

Prices

Gardening service
  • Hourly rate: €21.71 inc. VAT (based on a team of 4 people)
  • Subsidy from the municipality: €10 inc. VAT per hour of work and per worker invoiced
  • Additional costs per intervention: €33.58 inc. VAT (travel costs, fixed price for equipment, journey to recycling centre)

This service is exclusively reserved for the upkeep of hedges bordering the public domain and is limited to 25 hours per customer per year.

Snow clearing service

25.00 inc. VAT, of which €12.50 inc. VAT is paid by the municipality for each intervention

Important information:

This service will be provided Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 4.30pm (except public holidays and collective leave from 23.12.2024 to 01.01.2025 inclusive).

You must protect all plants and objects likely to be damaged by the snow clearance service.

By signing up for our snow clearance service, you agree to the terms of service described above and accept that our team will assess the need to intervene depending on weather conditions.

If you would like to receive your council invoices by email only (paperless), you can apply to the local council office to waive the paper invoice requirement.

To sign up, please complete and sign this form: HERE.

The document should be returned by post (Recette communale, B.P. 50, L-8201 Mamer) or by e-mail (recette@mamer.lu) to the municipal administration.

Please also include the reference of your last municipal invoice.

The Municipality’s annual budget includes €75,000 for the Participatory Budget.

The projects proposed must relate to matters within the remit of the municipal authorities.
These responsibilities mainly include:

  • the environment
  • urban planning
  • mobility
  • culture and local heritage
  • social affairs, integration and solidarity
  • education, children and the elderly
  • youth and sport

The Participatory Budget is based on the participatory approach, which consists of directly involving citizens and thus allowing ideas to emerge and projects of general interest to be carried out.

The aim of these projects is to improve the quality of life in the municipality, encourage people to live together and initiate collective action among the municipality’s residents.

The process involves several stages:

  1. Submission of projects
  2. Examination of projects (analysis of admissibility and feasibility) *.
  3. Citizen voting
  4. Réalisation des projets
  5. Project assessment

*If a large number of projects are submitted during the submission phase, a pre-selection phase is organised. This phase is carried out by means of a vote that allows citizens to pre-select their favourite projects.

On the 15th of December 2024, changes to timetables and/or routes will come into force on a number of regular and school bus routes on the RGTR network.

These changes also affect the 934/GOS Mersch – Kehlen – Mamer line and the 755 Capellen – Leudelange line.

Le nouveau « LU-Alert » permet de suivre toutes les alertes et informations émises par les autorités publiques via le système national d’alerte et d’information à la population (LU-Alert).

Informer la population en cas de danger constitue un outil essentiel pour permettre aux citoyennes et citoyens de mieux anticiper des événements, qu’ils soient prévus ou imprévus, et ainsi adopter les mesures nécessaires pour protéger les personnes et les biens.

Cette démarche ne se limite pas à intervenir au moment critique, mais vise également à agir en prévention, en renforçant la résilience face aux risques. Elle repose notamment sur des données issues de prévisions météorologiques ou hydrologiques.

Dans ce cadre, le nouveau dispositif d’alerte et d’information de la population a été instauré. Celui-ci s’appuie sur une plateforme électronique centrale qui garantit une diffusion harmonisée et cohérente des messages d’alerte. Accessible à toutes les autorités compétentes, ce système permet de communiquer avec la population via plusieurs canaux, dont une application téléchargable gratuitement dans l’App Store et sur Google Play.

The SICA’s new ecological calendar for 2025 is now available online. It details the waste collection dates for each member municipality, from January to December.

In Mamer, the paper version of the calendar will be distributed in December. Every household will receive the information they need to organise their waste management throughout the year.

Sica offers a new application

The Syndicat Intercommunal pour l’Hygiène Publique du Canton de Capellen (SICA) is now offering a new mobile application.

Just like the previous version, this new version provides access to the following functions:

  • a collection calendar
  • push notifications to remind you of upcoming collection dates
  • the possibility of reserving collections on request (e.g. for bulky waste, electrical appliances, clothing or hedge trimmings)
  • news and additional information

New features in this application include the following:

  • the option of selecting the time at which the user wishes to receive a reminder before a collection.
  • the addition of a reminder for on-demand collections for which the user is registered (waste, scrap metal, used clothing
    hedge trimmings)
  • a version available in Luxembourgish

We recommend that you uninstall the old SICA application from your phone and download the new one via the App Store or Google Play Store.

The Commune de Mamer now has a mobile application, available in French and English, offering citizens direct access to practical information and services.

This application is designed to complement existing communication tools, such as the commune’s newsletters, website and social networks.

Designed to bring residents closer to their commune, the application aims to make it easier for them to interact with local services and authorities.

Free and easy to access, the City-App, named “Cityapp Gemeng Mamer”, is available for iOS and Android systems and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Mobile SuperDréckskëscht collections, for waste that cannot be disposed of in ordinary garbage cans, take place 4 times a year in each municipality.

In the commune of Mamer, the collection point is located in the parking lot on the route de Dippach.

For the year 2025, problem products can be dropped off on the following Fridays, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., at this address:

The municipality of Mamer provides residents with free, secure spaces to park their bikes without fear of vandalism or theft.

These stations are located at the Kinneksbond school campus in Mamer, Place Kiem in Capellen and Place de Résistance in Holzem..

Use is subject to a name badge, which is issued free of charge.
