At the Commune de Mamer’s staff party at the Kinneksbond cultural centre, deserving employees were honoured and former mayor Gilles Roth bid farewell.
It was both a beautiful and difficult moment for the current Finance Minister when he took to the stage, to a standing ovation from the 360 guests, to say goodbye and thank you for all the years of support.
As a memento of that time, a painting by artist Jacques Schneider, created especially for the occasion, was presented to him by the new Mayor, Luc Feller, surrounded by Aldermen Roger Negri, Ed Buchette and Alderwoman Francine Closener.
Simone Heuschling, from the teaching staff, and Jean-Paul Jost, from the administration, were both given well-deserved retirement packages.
Véronique Hoffelt-Krier (Maison relais) and Romain Thein (Conciergerie Kinneksbond) were presented with gifts for 20 years of loyal service.
Jean-Marie Kerschenmeyer and Yvonne Kohnen-Kemp were thanked with a gift for 20 years of service on municipal commissions.
