Start of the National Day celebrations in Capellen

National Day festivities in the municipality of Mamer began on June 21 in Capellen, with a Te Deum at the church and a reception at the Cultural Center. The celebrations are organized for the residents and organizations of Holzem and Capellen.
In his speech at the Capellen Cultural Center, Mayor Luc Feller—accompanied by Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, Alderwoman Francine Closener, and members of the municipal council—emphasized the importance of National Day. He noted that this is the first National Day since Grand Duke Henri abdicated in favor of his son Guillaume, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our country. The mayor also highlighted the importance of unity within the municipality. Following the speech, the choirs of Capellen and Holzem sang “Ons Heemecht,” the Luxembourgish national anthem.
The festivities will continue on June 22 in Mamer, on the eve of National Day, with a Te Deum, an awards ceremony, a reception, and concerts.
