Once again this year, the large popular celebration of National Day on the Place de l’Indépendance in Mamer attracted hundreds of people.
For the Harmonie Gemeng Mamer, this was the first National Day concert under the direction of Ernie Hammes. The orchestra was supported by vocal soloists Olio Galanti and Steven Klopp.
This performance was preceded by a concert by Naomi Ayé, a Luxembourg finalist in the Eurovision Song Contest who lives in Mamer. The afternoon began with the Luxembourg brass band 7 Moukekingen, followed by the group Bye Bye Bay.
Gilles Roth, the Minister of Finance, also took part in the popular celebration in his home town, as did the Mayor, Luc Feller, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette and Alderwoman Francine Closener, as well as many members of the municipal council.
The culmination of National Day 2024 in Mamer was once again the big fireworks display behind the Mamer Schlass.
