Planting trees for the newborns of 2023

As part of the National Tree Day celebrations, the Syndicat d’Initiative et de Tourisme (SIT) had invited the parents of the new-born babies of the year 2023 in the Commune of Mamer, accompanied by their infants, to a tree-planting event at the Bambësch.

Mayor Luc Feller and SIT President Claude Lang took the opportunity to present parents with a diploma to commemorate the day, in the presence of Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, Alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the Local Council. In the forest, the fathers and mothers grabbed a spade to plant the tree in honour of their baby.

This year, the choice fell on maples, which were planted along the path to contribute to the reforestation of the forest.
