Just over 100 of the Commune de Mamer’s music students, who train at the UGDA music school, received their lower-division diplomas and certificates on stage at the Kinneksbond Cultural Center.
In front of their families and friends, the musicians and singers – mostly children and young people – presented the fruits of their learning at an audition.
Mayor Luc Feller, accompanied by Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette and members of the local council, spoke of a moment of pride and recognition for all the effort the students had put in throughout the year.
He also underlined the excellent collaboration with UGDA, which has already lasted for 20 years and has been given an extra boost by the new music school on the Kinneksbond Campus.
Over 900 music course registrations are managed each year by the UGDA in the commune of Mamer – and the trend is upwards.
