A Repair Café for bicycles and fabrics

Repair Cafés are a great success – even in the municipality of Mamer. They are organized regularly in Mamer, Capellen and Holzem by the Commission for Energy Transition, Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development.

The latest Repair Café in Holzem was mainly dedicated to bicycle repair and sewing. But many visitors also brought along other appliances such as fans, vacuum cleaners, lamps, etc. While the experts tried to bring the objects back to life, participants could either enjoy a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake, or watch the repairers at work.

The atmosphere was lively in the Holzem village hall, and many visitors left with a repaired appliance, item of clothing or bicycle under their arm. Alderman, Ed Buchette, was also present at the event in his capacity as chairman of the commission.
