Mamer’s traditional Welcome Party was held in the château’s village hall, bringing together almost 200 new residents for a convivial celebration.
Mayor Luc Feller, accompanied by aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the municipal council, presented the commune in his speech. He reviewed the major projects aimed at improving the quality of life in the commune, including the new school swimming pool, Maison Relais III, the regional music school, sports facilities, playgrounds, mobility facilities and green spaces. The mayor was delighted that many young families are settling in the commune of Mamer. More than 11,500 people of 107 nationalities currently reside in the municipality. Luc Feller also underlined the commitment and dynamism of the associations, which contribute to making Mamer a lively commune.
At the reception that followed, the new residents had the opportunity to find out more about the commune and life in Mamer from the heads of communal services, representatives of associations active in the commune and political leaders.
