Students plant hedges

As part of the National Day of the Tree, Cycle 3 pupils from the fundamental schools of Mamer and Capellen planted hedges once again this year. The Bambësch in Mamer was a hive of activity. More than 120 pupils planted shrubs under the guidance of forest ranger Fabrice Reuland and his staff. In all, several hundred hedges were planted on the site.

Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette were on hand to ensure that everything went smoothly.

But the students didn’t just learn how to plant: the experts also gave them a wealth of information on nature conservation. After taking part in the hedge planting, the pupils were able to keep their strength up for the rest of the day with pastries and drinks provided by the local authority.
