On the road for women’s rights

Over 200 people took part in the International Women’s Rights Day hike organized by the Communes of Mamer, Kehlen and Steinfort. Starting from Mamer and Kehlen, participants made their way to the Engelsratt forest, where the three Colleges of Aldermen, with their Equal Opportunities Commissions, offered an aperitif and a Bouneschlupp.

Mayor Luc Feller, together with Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette and Alderwoman Francine Closener, praised the Commune of Mamer’s commitment to equality, rewarded this year with the Best Communal Practice Award from the Ministry of Equality and Diversity. He stressed that this award shows that local initiatives can have a real impact, but that there are still steps to be taken towards full equality.
