Music Festival: A Final Day Blending Tradition and Modernity

On Sunday, for the closing day of the Fête de la Musique in Mamer, the main stage at Place de l’Indépendance once again drew a large crowd. Brass band music, folk, rock, blues, soul, and funk took the stage one after another in a festive atmosphere from the first concert to the last. Mayor Luc Feller and Alderman Ed Buchette also enjoyed this day of music.

Musek Keespelt/Meespelt and Harmonie Victoria Téiteng kicked off the program before handing the baton to Thunder Road, Fernanda Stange, Superdrive, Mad Fox, and, for the grand finale, Fred Barreto & the Syndicate feat. Maxime Bender. Brazilian-Luxembourgish musician Fred Barreto and saxophonist Maxime Bender blended different musical styles in a performance that was as original as it was impressive.
