KlimaForum celebrates its 30th anniversary

KlimaForum Mamer recently celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Mamer Schlass village hall.

In collaboration with ASTM, the film The Illusion of Abundance was shown, highlighting the environmental and social challenges of our time.

Founded following the unanimous decision of the local council in November 1994 to join Klimabündnis Lëtzebuerg, KlimaForum was set up in June 1995 as an independent, politically neutral structure with the mission of providing information on active climate protection and promoting fair trade, while offering citizens concrete courses of action.

On this anniversary evening, Chairman Jemp Weydert recounted the highlights of the past three decades. Mayor Luc Feller, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette were also present, along with several members of the local council, to pay tribute to the work accomplished.

In his speech, Luc Feller praised the association’s long-standing commitment, underlining the importance of its many impulses in the field of sustainable development. He described the municipality of Mamer as environmentally conscious, actively investing in sustainability and climate protection.

He also spoke of KlimaForum’s role as an important voice on these issues within the community. To round off the evening, a birthday cake was served.
