CIPA once again celebrated a 90th birthday. Andrée Letsch-Gilson, nicknamed “Daisy” by family and friends, was born on the 2nd of June 1935, in Mamer. The dynamic nonagenarian was married twice. After the death of her first husband, a baker from Hollerich, she remarried a few years later to a letter carrier from Esch-sur-Alzette, with whom she lived in Leudelange. On the death of her second husband in 2004, Andrée Letsch-Gilson returned to her home town of Mamer. For the past two years, she has been living at CIPA, where she feels very much at home.
Trained as a milliner, she nevertheless worked for many years at the post office counter. She sang in the Mamer choir for 48 years. As well as singing, her passions are flowers and baking.
Mrs. Letsch had no children of her own, but she is surrounded by nine nieces and nephews, several of whom came to CIPA to celebrate her birthday.
Mayor Luc Feller was also on hand to congratulate the jubilarian on behalf of the commune.
