For the fourth time in succession, the VC Mamer women’s team won the Luxembourg Volleyball Cup. With a score of 4:1 (25:16, 13:25, 25:20, 25:10), the ladies beat RSR Walferdange in Strassen.
After winning the first set by a clear margin (25:16), Walferdange fought back in the second (25:13) to keep the suspense alive. The crowd was treated to a very tight third set, before Mamer regained the upper hand in a decisive fourth set.
In the stands, where Mayor Luc Feller, Alderman Roger Negri, Alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the communal council were also present, the victory was celebrated with enthusiasm.
Even Finance Minister Gilles Roth didn’t miss the opportunity to come and cheer on the Mamer players.
At the end, the joy was overwhelming. A very proud mayor, accompanied by his colleagues from the aldermanic college, presented the medals to the lucky winners.
