‘Alles op Vélo’ between Mamer and Mersch

For the first time, the municipalities of Mamer, Kopstal and Mersch launched the ‘Alles op Vélo’ event on the route between Mamer and Mersch, with stops in Kopstal and Schoenfels.

Throughout the day, the CR101 was closed to motorized traffic. Mostly families, but also many senior citizens, were out on their bikes, on foot or on rollerblades, enjoying the varied program of food and entertainment on offer at the various stops.

In Mamer, where the start and finish were in front of the water treatment plant, participants were welcomed by members of the Mobility, Sport and Environment Commissions to register for the rally.

At the ‘Vëlosatelier’ stand, it was possible to have minor repairs carried out on bikes. Catering was provided by local clubs BBC Mambra, FC Mamer 32, VC Mamer and Trispeed.

Along the way, a historic bicycle belonging to Nicolas Frantz attracted the Blickes.
The granddaughter of the two-time Tour de France winner (1927 and 1928), who was on the handlebars, even woreoriginal shoes from the era, as today’s shoes are not compatible with historic pedals.
