It’s become a tradition: the the firefighters’ meal offered by the commune to members of the CISMA (Centre d’Incendie et de Secours Mamer)to thank them for their tireless commitment to public safety. Around 70 people, including active firefighters and members of the Amicale, turned out at the Mamer Schlass to celebrate together with Mayor Luc Feller, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, and members of the Municipal Council.
The evening was marked by a change at the helm of CISMA. After 7 years, Patrick Franck hands over the reins to Antonie van den Heuvel.
In his speech, Mayor Luc Feller thanked the members of the intervention center for the 5,000 or so interventions they carried out last year. He also stressed the need for professional firefighters and volunteer rescue workers to work hand in hand. In this context, the Amicale would play an important role, as it fosters cohesion between firefighters. Mamer is a fast-growing community, so an efficient emergency service is essential,” he added. He wished the new CISMA chief every success in his new mission, and the outgoing chief every success for the future. In his speech, Patrick Franck emphasized the good collaboration with the municipality, and was particularly pleased with the renewal of the CISMA vehicle fleet.
Finally, the president of the Amicale had one more surprise for the guests: to thank the firefighters’ spouses for their support, each received a 3D rose as a gift.
