It was already the fourth edition of the Luxembourg Day, organized each year by the Syndicat d’initiative et de tourisme in collaboration with the commune.
Dat ass Lëtzebuerg” puts our country, its people, culture and products in the spotlight. All day long, the Place de l’Indépendance was bustling with activity under the Skyliner, despite the high temperatures. Several Luxembourg producers offered their products, including honey, beer, liqueurs, meat and crémant.
The musical atmosphere was not to be outdone. The day began with the Sainte Cécile de Mamer choir.
Mayor Luc Feller, accompanied by aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the local council, then opened the day’s proceedings and praised the Syndicat d’initiative’s initiative.
The music continued with a fine concert by the Harmonie des Jeunes de Mamer (HGM-Jugendharmonie), before Nikki Ninja, accompanied by Afrobeathoven, took the audience under the Skyliner into the world of hip-hop. Visitors then got a taste of Luxembourg folklore, and were even invited to dance by members of the folk group La Ronde. The day ended on a high note with a much-applauded performance by Dëppegéisser.
