Mamer is one of the first municipalities in the country to have signed a charter for equality between men and women in sport.
A total of 14 local sports clubs (KC Avenir Holzem, FC Mamer 32, Tennis Club Online Cap, Mamer Chess Club, Pétanque Club Mamer, DT Amicale Mamer, Karate Kamigaito Wado Ryu Mamer, Vëlo Club Mamerdall, Mamer Warriors, Trispeed Mamer, Volleyball Club Mamer, Pétanque Club Capellen, Härenéquipe FC Mamer 32, BBC Mambra) signed the document in the presence of Mayor Luc Feller, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, Alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the Commission for Equal Opportunities and the Commission for Sports and Leisure.
Of course, the entire aldermanic college also signed the charter. In his speech, Luc Feller emphasized that this charter reflects reality on the ground. It is the result of effective cooperation between the municipality, the Maison Citoyenne, the relevant commissions and the clubs. Equality in sport is a shared responsibility and value that must be promoted, insisted the mayor.
