Inauguration of the new table tennis hall

The commune of Mamer, in collaboration with the local table tennis club DT Amicale Mamer, organized an exhibition match for the inauguration of the new table tennis room in the basement of the school swimming pool, pitting Luka Mladenovic against Aaron Sahr, one of the country’s young prodigies in the sport. The match was refereed by Pol Pierret, one of the world’s top referees, who, like Luka Mladenovic, took part in the Paris Olympic Games.

The two exceptional players thrilled the audience, which included Mayor Luc Feller, accompanied by Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, Alderwoman Francine Closener and members of the local council.

Spectators and the President of the national Table Tennis Federation, Charles Muller, were also invited to play a few balls with the athletes.

In his speech, the mayor explained the new infrastructure. He praised the performance not only of the athletes, but also of the referee. Luc Feller said he was proud of the DT Amicale Mamer, which stands out not only for its sporting success, but also for its social commitment.

After the match, which lasted around an hour, fans were able to ask the players for autographs. A line formed in front of their table, and many satisfied faces could be seen on the way out.
