Apple Day for the children of Cycle 2.2

During the ‘Apeldag’, pupils from cycles 2.2 of the fundamental schools Mamer and Capellen had the opportunity to make their own apple juice and discover how freshly picked fruit is transformed into a delicious sweet nectar.

Supervised by former school teachers and the local section of natur&ëmwelt, they were actively involved in the various stages of the process: sorting local apples, cutting, crushing, pressing, bottling and, of course, tasting.

Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette also attended to encourage the children and thank the organisers for this great initiative.
