A morning dedicated to apples

More than 90 children took part this year in the traditional “Apple Day, ” held at the Kinneksbond School in Mamer. Four classes from Cycle 2.2 at the Mamer Fundamental School and two classes from Capellen spent the entire morning making their own apple juice. They also learned many interesting facts about this delicious fruit.
This year, the apples came from the HMC League, since the natur&ëmwelt orchards did not have enough fruit on their trees. In total, however, no fewer than 250 kilograms of apples were processed. The students were supervised by school staff, former teachers, and members of the local natur&ëmwelt chapter. The children were very enthusiastic and actively participated by sorting, cutting, grinding, and pressing the apples. As a reward, everyone was able to take home a bottle of this delicious juice.
Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette came to visit the children and didn’t miss the opportunity to try some of the freshly squeezed juice themselves. Their verdict is clear: it’s deliciously sweet.
