Successful Start to the Road Cycling Championships

The national road cycling championships are being held this year in Mamer. The competition kicked off with the time trial, which began in the early afternoon. In summer-like temperatures, the riders gave it their all to post the best possible time. They were cheered on by their teammates, their families, and numerous spectators who watched the race in person under beautiful weather conditions.
Mayor Luc Feller, aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette—who also served as the event’s emcee—as well as members of the municipal council, also watched the time trial. Sports Minister Martine Hansen also traveled to Mamer to wish the riders good luck. Luc Feller and Martine Hansen also presented the winners with their medals.
Despite the challenging conditions, this time trial was a great success, and all cycling enthusiasts had a great time.
Due to the heat wave, the cycling events scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, as part of the National Road Cycling Championships have been canceled. However, the concert at Independence Square will take place as planned. Competition will resume on Sunday with the U23 and Elite categories.
