The Family and Senior Citizens Commission organized a conference with experts from the Hëllef Doheem Foundation in the Mamer Schlass village hall. The theme was the Senior Plus service. This is a prevention and advice service for people over 65 who feel isolated or unsafe in their own homes. The commune of Mamer signed the Senior Plus agreement in 2016.
Foundation representatives presented Hëllef Doheem’s offerings to participants and answered questions. Among the topics covered were safety, loneliness, mobility, nutrition, social life, work in and around the home and health services. The audience was very interested and asked many questions.
Alderman Ed Buchette also came to the Mamer Schlass to listen to the specialists’ explanations.
