Rotary District 2160 organised its conference this year at the Kinneksbond Cultural Centre.
The Governor for 2023/2024, Jos Faber, accompanied by the Mayor of Mamer, Luc Feller, had the privilege of welcoming Jean-Claude Juncker as a speaker.
The Honorary Minister of State and Honorary President of the European Commission, who himself lives in Capellen, focused his highly specialised speech on the current geopolitical situation in Europe and around the world. He spoke in particular about the Ukrainian conflict, Russia and, beyond that, the role of the EU and European countries in this context.
Mayor Luc Feller presented the municipality of Mamer to the 250 guests gathered in the large auditorium through a film.
Rotarians from all over the country and Belgium had come to Mamer to attend this morning’s event.
