Repair Café: The 1,000-item mark has been surpassed

The Mamer Municipality’s Repair Café has been a huge success. At the recent event held in Holzem, the milestone of 1,000 items repaired since the initiative’s launch was reached. Since March 2022, the Commission for Energy Transition, Environmental Protection, and Sustainable Development has organized 27 Repair Cafés in the municipality. In total, 56% of the items brought in were repaired on site.
The Repair Café held in early July at the Holzem community center was also very well attended. This event focused on repairing outdoor gear and luggage. But the volunteers also tackled many other items, such as fans, video game controllers, radios, and much more, with the goal of giving them a second life.
The repair technicians enthusiastically set to work restoring the items, in a friendly atmosphere filled with conversation, advice, and good cheer. As a result, many visitors left satisfied, with a repaired device… and a smile.
