Olé, Spain! A red-and-yellow final

Brill Park hosted a public viewing of the World Cup final in an exceptional atmosphere. A majority of Spanish fans, joined by a few Argentine fans, had gathered in front of the giant screen to watch this highly anticipated match. Mayor Luc Feller, Alderman Ed Buchette, and members of the municipal council were also in attendance.

The many Spanish fans livened up the evening with their flags, jerseys, and cheers. Despite several scoring opportunities, Spain struggled for much of the game against the opposing defense, while Argentina had a hard time creating any real danger.

The goal scored in extra time finally brought relief to the Spanish fans. After a few final scares, Spain won 1-0, treating the crowd at Parc Brill to a final full of suspense and excitement.
