On the eve of National Remembrance Day, the municipality of Mamer paid tribute to the Luxembourgish Resistance and to the victims of the Nazi dictatorship. In his speech, Mayor Luc Feller recalled the historical significance of October 10, 1941, and emphasized the importance of passing on this memory to future generations, while upholding the values of freedom and civic courage.
In Holzem, Capellen, and Mamer, Mayor Luc Feller, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, and Alderwoman Francine Closener laid flowers at the monuments, in the presence of members of the municipal council, representatives of local organizations, and citizens. The National Anthem and the hymn “Ons Heemecht” were played during the tributes. In Mamer, a commemorative procession and a Mass rounded out the ceremony.
