This was the sixth edition of MaMer Égalité, organized by the Maison Citoyenne in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender Equality and Diversity, in schools in Mamer and Capellen. Once again, the campaign aimed to combat gender-based stereotypes and, in doing so, promote inclusion, tolerance, and mutual respect.
Over the course of several days, five classes from Capellen (cycles 3.1 and 4.1) and five classes from Mamer (cycle 3.1) participated in 13 workshops. A total of 150 students took part in the project and learned a great deal about equal opportunity as well as stereotypes related to women and men.
The workshops were led by representatives of the CNFL (National Council of Women of Luxembourg). At the end of the event, Mireille Weiten told the children a beautiful story about gender equality. During the final days of the campaign, she led two workshops titled “Zaubertru” and “Listen to Your Heart.”
On the last day, Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, Alderwoman Francine Closener, and Ministry representative Nadine Schirtz attended the reading. They listened attentively to the fascinating historical overview and also took part in the activities centered around the “Zaubertru.”
