Dissolved Theaterkëscht Mamer donates its funds to 8 NGO’s

37 years after the idea of founding a theater club was first mooted at a “Grillfest”, the association Theaterkëscht Mamer was disbanded in the spring of 2024 due to a lack of new members.

Given the excellent work carried out over the years, as President Georges Neuens pointed out, the decision was taken to donate the fund to 8 NGOs.

At a celebration at the Mamer Schlass, a cheque for 2,000 euros was presented to representatives of Médecins du Monde, Plooschter Projet, Stëmm vun der Strooss, Een Häerz fir kriibskrank Kanner, Amulanz Wonsch, Île aux Clowns, Amnesty International and Fondation Autisme.

Earlier, Georges Neuens, in the presence of Alderman Roger Negri, Alderwoman Francine Closener, members of the local council and former actors, looked back over the association’s long history and recalled some of its highlights.

Alderman Roger Negri thanked the members of the Theaterkëscht Mamer for their many years of commitment and for the valuable cultural enrichment they have offered the municipality over almost four decades.
