Brill Park

The “Brill” park, which is both a place for relaxation and recreation, is located behind the municipal administration.
Saturday July 9, 2016 was celebrated the opening of the new Pavilion “Am Parc Brill”.

The pavilion is open 7 days a week from 11.00am to 11.00pm (also Sundays and public holidays).

Brill Park includes the following facilities:

  • several children’s play areas
  • a mini-stadium
  • a basketball court
  • two table tennis tables
  • a skate park
  • a pavilion serving drinks and snacks to park visitors.

    Op der Drëps site

    The “Drëps” is a leisure area on the edge of the municipal forest and near the “Thillsmillen”, to discover with your family or friends during the summer.

    The site is equipped with a chalet, a pavilion and rustic benches. A pebble barbecue is also available.

    To enhance the Drëps, information boards have been installed and the lawn has been newly laid. The educational trail starts on the site.

    Self-guided walking and cycling routes

    In the commune of Mamer, you have the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional landscape far from any road traffic on the “Mamer trail between Mamer, Kopstal and Mersch (total 22km). In addition, the municipality offers seven other self-guided trails in idyllic locations.

    Nicolas Frantz cycle path

    La piste cyclable très fréquentée, nommée Nicolas Frantz, a été inauguré en 2008 et s’étend sur 12 kilomètres à partir de Strassen, en passant par Mamer, Holzem jusqu’à Garnich. Peu avant l’arrivée à Steinfort, la piste fait la liaison avec la “Piste cyclable de l’Attert”.

    Eisch-Mamer cycle path

    The Eisch-Mamer cycle path starts in Mamer and runs for 18 kilometres. It links Mamer and Mersch and passes through Capellen and Kehlen.

    The Mamer Wiselen group was founded in 1977 and is represented by a large number of active members.
    The chalet is located on the outskirts of Mamer, in the direction of Capellen.

    The Caper Piwitschen scout group was officially founded in 1981.

    The Caper Piwitschen chalet in Capellen has been in existence since 2003 and has over 150 active members. In addition to their activities, the scouts are also involved in social and cultural projects.

    This sports complex comprises:

    • 4 outdoor clay courts
    • 1 outdoor hard court
    • 3 indoor carpet courts
    • changing rooms and showers for men and women
    • a restaurant-brasserie offering quality French-Italian cuisine in a pleasant setting
    • an online court reservation system for paying members

    The facilities are reserved for members of the TC CAP Tennis Club.

    A beach volleyball court is also located just a few steps from the “Paul Glück” sports complex.

    Mini-stadium

    The Capellen leisure and sports park has a mini-stadium where youngsters can play football and basketball. The mini-stadium does not need to be booked in advance.

    Verkéiersgaart (Traffic Garden)

    The “Verkéiersgaart” (traffic garden), approved in 2009 by the Mamer local council, has been set up at the Sports and Leisure Park in Capellen to promote road safety education. A practice area allows children to familiarise themselves with traffic rules and raise their awareness of the dangers of the road. The facility also includes a chalet that doubles as a classroom and a shelter for around 30 bicycles.
