What is a Fairtrade Gemeng?
A “Fairtrade Gemeng” is a commune that supports fair trade and small disadvantaged producers in the South.
Mamer was certified as a “Fairtrade Gemeng” on May the 15th 2015. Luxembourg currently has 35 Fairtrade Gemeng. That’s more than one in four municipalities certified as Fairtrade and committed to fair trade.
“Think globally, act locally”; according to this motto, a Fairtrade commune contributes, on its own scale, to a socially and economically fairer world by enabling disadvantaged producers in Africa, Asia and Latin America to lead a decent life thanks to the benefits of Fairtrade.
