{"id":54068,"date":"2026-08-07T10:24:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-07T08:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/?p=54068"},"modified":"2026-08-07T10:24:00","modified_gmt":"2026-08-07T08:24:00","slug":"temporary-ban-on-lighting-fires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/en\/temporary-ban-on-lighting-fires\/","title":{"rendered":"Temporary Ban on Lighting Fires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>Due to the <strong>ongoing drought<\/strong> and high temperatures, the <strong>risk of fires starting and spreading<\/strong> is currently very high.<\/p>\n<p>As <strong>a precautionary measure<\/strong> and to protect our forests, our natural areas, and everyone\u2019s safety, an <strong>emergency ordinance<\/strong> has been adopted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Effective today, the following is strictly prohibited:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to light a fire;<\/li>\n<li>to use any type of grill,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>in<strong> forests, parks, green spaces, natural areas, and all other public spaces or areas<\/strong> accessible to the public within the municipality of Mamer, <strong>including the<\/strong> <strong>\u201cOp der Dr\u00ebps\u201d site.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Failure to comply with this prohibition is punishable by a fine of \u20ac25 to \u20ac250.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please find attached the emergency regulation: <a href=\"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/CE-2026-076-REGLEMENT-DURGENCE-RISQUE-DINCENDIE.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-54077\">CE 2026-076 EMERGENCY REGULATION: FIRE HAZARD<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/CE-2026-076-Reglement-durgence-_-risque-incendie.pdf\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-54076\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Best Practices to Follow<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>In addition to this ban, everyone is asked to <strong>exercise caution<\/strong> to reduce the risk of fire:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Never throw<strong> cigarette butts<\/strong> into the natural environment or on public roads, even if they appear to be out. A single ember can be enough to set dry vegetation on fire. When the wind picks up, a fire can spread very quickly.  <\/li>\n<li>Do not leave <strong>bottles or pieces of glass<\/strong> in the wilderness, as they can cause a fire under certain conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong> <\/strong><strong>In case of smoke or a fire<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Leave<\/strong> the affected area immediately.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Call<\/strong><strong> 112<\/strong> immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you for helping to protect the environment and ensure everyone&#8217;s safety.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Due to the ongoing drought and high temperatures, the risk of fires starting and spreading is currently very high.
