As a sign of solidarity<\/strong> with the 30,000 or so people affected by rare diseases in Luxembourg, the Mamer Schlass was illuminated<\/strong> in the colors of Rare Disease Day as part of the “Global Chain of Lights” on World Rare Disease Day<\/strong>, February 28, 2026.<\/p>\n

A disease is said to be rare<\/strong> when it affects less thanone person in 2,000<\/strong>. For 95% of these diseases<\/strong>, there is currently no effective treatment<\/strong>. More than ever, research is therefore essential<\/strong> to develop treatments and medicines for these relentless diseases. <\/p>\n

The commune of Mamer supports Rare Disease Day and the association ALAN – Maladies Rares, which works in Luxembourg on behalf of sufferers and their families.<\/strong><\/p>\n
