{"id":29868,"date":"2024-07-18T08:09:37","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T06:09:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/inauguration-of-the-new-cogeneration-plant-in-mamer\/"},"modified":"2024-07-18T08:09:37","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T06:09:37","slug":"inauguration-of-the-new-cogeneration-plant-in-mamer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mamer.lu\/en\/inauguration-of-the-new-cogeneration-plant-in-mamer\/","title":{"rendered":"Inauguration of the new cogeneration plant in Mamer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Route de Dippach<\/strong>, behind the CFL &#8220;Lyc\u00e9e de Mamer&#8221; dock, the <strong>new cogeneration plant<\/strong> of the commune of Mamer, in operation since last December, was <strong>officially inaugurated<\/strong>. <strong>Construction work<\/strong> on this innovative project, operated by LuxEnergie, took <strong>27 months<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Mayor Luc Feller, accompanied by Aldermen Roger Negri and Ed Buchette, was pleased to welcome Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy and Energy, and Marie-Pierre Jouglain, representative of the European Commission in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition to the municipal buildings<\/strong> supplied by a district heating network since 2000, the new facility will also<strong>supply heat to existing and future housing estates in the surrounding area<\/strong>, as well as <strong>any new public infrastructures<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today&#8217;s heat production<\/strong>, based mainly on pellets, <strong>reduces CO2 emissions by 1,600 tonnes<\/strong> a year compared with the old plant, which was no longer profitable after 2022. Eventually, this reduction will even reach 2,200 tonnes. <\/p>\n<p>On the <strong>roofs of the building<\/strong>, which <strong>also houses the new forestry depot<\/strong>, 230 additional <strong>solar panels<\/strong> have been installed,<strong>reducing CO2 emissions by a further 16 tonnes<\/strong> a year.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the Route de Dippach, behind the CFL &#8220;Lyc\u00e9e de Mamer&#8221; dock, the new cogeneration plant of the commune of Mamer, in operation since last December, was officially inaugurated.
