With the Nature Pact, the commune of Mamer makes a commitment: <\/strong><\/p>\n The Nature Pact is a contract that the commune of Mamer entered into with the State of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the economic interest grouping Klima-Agence, in which it has actively participated ever since. The contract, signed on December the 10th 2021 by the municipality of Mamer, has a duration ending on December the 31st 2030. <\/p>\n Like the Climate Pact, the Nature Pact is an instrument designed to promote municipal initiatives aimed at preserving and restoring biodiversity.<\/p>\n Local authorities are important partners of the State in the protection of nature and natural resources. Through their political decisions, they can make a significant contribution to improving the biodiversity situation and providing ecosystem services. <\/p>\n In fact, local authorities have around 13% of the national territory where actions to promote biodiversity have taken place or could take place.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The basic principle of the Nature Pact: <\/strong><\/p>\n The Nature Pact offers municipalities wishing to actively combat the loss of biodiversity the opportunity to apply for State support.<\/p>\n By joining the pact, municipalities commit to implementing the measures listed in the Nature Pact\u2019s catalog of measures. The catalog includes nature conservation measures in the following areas: \u201cdevelopment and implementation of a comprehensive strategy,\u201d \u201curban environments,\u201d \u201copen landscapes,\u201d \u201caquatic environments,\u201d \u201cforest environments,\u201d and \u201ccommunication and cooperation.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Commitment and certification of municipalities: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Nature Pact also provides for a system of certifications, similar to that of the Climate Pact, with four levels of performance: “basic certification” (40%), “bronze” (50%), “silver” (60%) and “gold” (70%)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n In order to determine whether a municipality is entitled to the “Pacte Nature”<\/strong> certification and to calculate the amount of the subsidy, the municipality’s level of performance in relation to the measures implemented is assessed according to the catalogue of measures.<\/span><\/p>\n The Nature team: <\/strong><\/p>\n The Pacte Nature team is led by a Pacte Nature advisor who meets at regular intervals to advise municipal authorities on the implementation of the Pacte Nature.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Contact: <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Department of Environment, Energy, and Mobility Phone: 31 00 31-3151 Hours of operation: <\/p>\n
