Due to a technical transition linked to the introduction of the new Luxembourg passport, it will not be possible to submit a passport application to the local administration on May 8, 2026.
Applications will be accepted from May 11, 2026, when the new passport will be officially introduced in Luxembourg.
What’s new?
The passport’s validity period will now be adapted to the holder’s age:
– 2 years for children under 4
– 5 years for young people aged 4 to 18
– 10 years for adults
The application procedure and fees remain unchanged.
